With these optional accessories, you can print letters, send a fax, receive a paging message, connect to your personal computer, or gain access to information on your network. You can also work for hours without having to change batteries. And you can protect your treasured Newton—and its accessories—in a lovely leather carrying case, wherever you go.
Accessories
Newton Connection Kit
This kit allows you to connect your Newton communications assistant to your personal computer.
Then you can view and edit (on your computer) all the notes, name cards, and appointments you created on your Newton, and transfer that information directly into (and out of) popular Windows and Macintosh applications.
Press a button, and files between your personal computer and the Newton MessagePad are updated and synchronized automatically. You can also back up information you keep in your Newton. Both kits come with a cable and software: one version works with personal computers running Microsoft Windows, and the other works with Apple Macintosh computers.
Messaging Card
Turn your Newton MessagePad into a mobile pager with the Newton Messaging Card. It receives and stores wireless messages—even when it’s not plugged into your Newton—via the Apple Wireless Messaging Service.
Fax Modem and Fax Modem Card
Now you have two choices: the inexpensive, external Fax Modem or the internal Fax Modem Card that fits in your Newton slot. Both allow you to send and receive electronic mail, connect to on-line services, and send faxes.
The Fax Modem weighs only 7 ounces and uses either two AA alkaline batteries (included) or a Newton Power Adapter. The Fax Modem Card uses the Newton’s power supply.
Print Pack
The Print Pack comes with all the software and hardware you need to use your parallel printer with your Newton MessagePad. It works with most popular laser, dot-matrix, portable ink-jet, and thermal printers, as well as printers compatible with MS-DOS and Windows-based computers.
Power Adapter
The Power Adapter lets you run your Newton or Fax Modem using AC power. It comes in several versions to meet international power requirements.
Battery Booster Pack
Plug this portable pack’s cable into your Newton and its eight AA alkaline batteries add hours of running time. Batteries are not included.
Rechargeable Battery Packs
These rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery packs keep your Newton running.
MessagePad 110 Charging Station
Plug your Newton MessagePad 110 into this charging station to run it on AC power while recharging its batteries. You can simultaneously quick-charge its external battery pack in two to three hours.
Battery Pack Recharger
Charge one battery pack in this recharger while using another in your Newton MessagePad or MessagePad 100. One rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery pack is included.
1MB Storage Card
Use the 1MB Storage Card to increase the storage capacity of your Newton MessagePad and to back up your information. This card holds up to four times as much information as your Newton MessagePad (or twice as much as your MessagePad 100 or MessagePad 110)
2MB and 4MB Flash Storage Cards
The 2MB Flash Storage Card holds twice as much information as the 1MB Storage Card; the 4MB Flash Storage Card holds four times as much.
Carrying Case
This case protects your Newton and your add-in cards when you take them on the road. It’s made of durable black material and stays securely closed.
Leather Carrying Case
The leather carrying case has room for add-in cards and lots of business cards, and has a zipper to keep everything where it belongs.
Communications System Carrying Case
Use this synthetic-leather carrying case for your Newton MessagePad, or MessagePad 100, and accessories—from the Fax Modem to the Messaging Card and storage cards.
